His practice involves counseling local and foreign companies in the design, planning and organization of tax efficient financial transactions, including loans, project financing, securitization of assets and derivatives. In the area of mergers and acquisitions he has been involved in many transactions, advising both buyers and sellers in the tax consequences derived from the transfer of assets and shares, and also advised on joint ventures between local and foreign companies. He also has a strong background in litigation in tax-related cases.

Career

Walter joined Marval in 1999. Prior to joining Marval O’Farrell Mairal, he worked during five years in Gutman Law Firm, a boutique firm specialized in litigation of tax cases.

Education

He obtained his law degree at the University of Buenos Aires, School of Law (1994), with a specialization in Tax Law. He also holds a Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of Florida, USA (2003) and a degree earned at the Graduate Tax Program of the University of Buenos Aires, School of Economics (1997).
