Mr Juan Pablo Chevallier-Boutell
Juan Pablo Chevallier Boutell is an advisory partner of Beccar Varela and the head of the firm’s Insurance Department. His practice areas include Insurance and Reinsurance, and he has broad expertise in regulatory and corporate matters.
Juan Pablo Chevallier-Boutell has been a partner of Beccar Varela since 1990. He started his career in 1968 and joined the firm in 1990 as partner. In 2012 he was appointed Advisory Partner.
From 1970 to 1980 Juan Pablo was professor of Commercial Law at the UCA.

He speaks Spanish and English.
He is a member of the Buenos Aires Bar Association and of the Association Internationale du Droit des Assurances (AIDA), Argentina Chapter.
Juan Pablo received his law degree from the Argentine Catholic University (“UCA”) in 1967.
According to sources, Beccar Varela’s team demonstrates ‘very strong potential’ due to its ‘excellent technical ability’. The practice is active across a wide scope of insurance lines — including general, annuity, life and surety bonds — and has recently undertaken work for RSA Group and Toyota Compañía Financiera Argentina, among others. On the non-contentious side, the team advises on the formation and sale of insurance companies, portfolio transfers and sales, product approvals and general regulatory matters. It also handles insurance litigation and class actions. Department head Daniel Seoane displays ‘excellent knowledge of insurance law and corporate matters’ and brings to bear strong in-house experience following roles at Royal & Sun Alliance Seguros Argentina and Suramericana. Advisory partner Juan Pablo Chevallier-Boutell is also very experienced. Agustín Duarte is a capable senior associate.
