Fielding one of the largest, most specialised banking and finance teams in Chile, Barros & Errázuriz‘s practice is able to leverage off the firm’s substantial real estate, energy, environmental and regulatory groups. It is particularly highly rated in the market for energy and infrastructure project finance deals, while the firm’s membership of the Affinitas network facilitates exchanges of ideas on regional banking and finance developments with peers in Colombia, Mexico and Peru. Consistently advising developers, sponsors, constructors, operators, suppliers and financiers, Barros & Errázuriz‘s large practice assists with sizeable and complex developments and financings of infrastructure (tendering processes and public and private works concessions) and energy (renewables, conventional and transmission) projects, along with mining companies’ desalination projects. Clients also benefit from the firm’s litigation practice that can boast both domestic and cross-border expertise. With approximately 24 years’ experience, Nicolás Balmaceda is a cross-border project finance specialist; Francisco De la Barra, who ‘always provides excellent advice‘ is an infrastructure and energy project expert; and Fernando Garrido and counsel Cristóbal Pellegrini advise on energy generation and transmission projects.
