Matías has been a part of AZ since 2020, having previously worked within the firm between 2011 and 2014. His practice has focused on matters of competition, economic regulation, regulatory and intellectual property litigation, compliance and personal data protection. During his career, he has participated in several cases of public connotation linked to particularly complex markets such as retail, the pharmaceutical sector, energy and telecommunications, among others.

Likewise, given his previous experience in intellectual and industrial property matters, personal data and new technologies, he has developed research and teaching activities linked to the interaction between competition law and these areas, especially in the field of patents and digital platforms.

The regulated markets and public and competition law group at Albagli Zaliasnik handles preventive advice, antitrust compliance programmes, merger control issues and investigations before the FNE, along with matters before Chile’s competition and Supreme Courts. The ‘innovative‘ practice is jointly led by name partner and litigation-group director Gabriel Zaliasnik, whose caseload includes antitrust cases; and civil litigation and arbitration leader Ariela Agosin, who, additionally maintains an active IP practice. Energy, oil and gas and natural resources expert, Antonio Rubilar, was promoted to director in May 2021, while senior associate Matías Edwards    is a September 2020 returnee from the FNE.
