Career

Alexandre Verri is a partner who specializes in the Corporate Law and Mergers & Acquisitions.  He is the Managing Partner for the Firm’s São Paulo office and previously served on the Firm’s Board of Directors.  He brings deep expertise to clients in the area of contracts due to his work with corporate acquisitions.

Mr. Verri represents clients in the entertainment, sports marketing, software, consulting, Internet, chemical and consumer products industries among others.  He also has significant skills in advising and coordinating efforts for foreign companies doing business in Brazil.   Mr. Verri has also counseled multiple start-up companies and mid-sized businesses.  He is very active with the Swedish – Brazilian Chamber of Commerce and has a close relationship with the Swedish Trade Council due to his considerable experience advising Swedish companies.

Recognized for his expertise in sports marketing, several key soccer organizations retain him for knowledgeable counsel.  He represents FIFA agents in Brazil and was involved in the development of agreements related to the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2014 World Cup.  Mr. Verri has also drafted broadcasting and media contracts, franchise and sponsorship agreements.  He has also negotiated and drafted agreements related to the federation and financial rights of soccer players.

In the areas of Mergers & Acquisitions, Mr. Verri recently advised a Dutch consumer products corporation with the cash acquisition of their Brazilian subsidiary valued at R$ 186 million.  He also assisted a chemical company in a global acquisition of share participation valued at R$ 39 million.  Mr. Verri also advised a buyer in the optical glass industry with the acquisition of a 25% share of another company in the same industry with a purchase price of US$7 million.

An active speaker and lecturer, Mr. Verri frequently introduces law students to the intricacies of Corporate Law.  He has taught courses at Fundação Getúlio Vargas, Universidade de São Paulo and Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie.  He also worked as a foreign associate in the New York office of a leading US law firm.
