Position

Jonathan Heaney specialises in M&A transactions involving regulated financial services business, corporate real estate acquisition and financing and investment fund matters.

He has more than 15 years’ experience as an offshore lawyer and is recognised in Legal 500’s Hall of Fame.

Jonathan has practised in London, BVI and Jersey, advising on all elements of funds, corporate and finance work, including many of the biggest transactions involving global corporate services providers.

Jonathan is admitted in both Jersey and BVI, and is a member of the firm’s Global Investment Funds and Corporate Groups.

He has been part of Walkers’ Jersey team since 2007 and is the managing partner of the firm’s Jersey office.

Career

Before joining Walkers, Jonathan spent five years in London and gained experience in corporate and commercial law with two international firms with an emphasis on cross-border and multi-jurisdictional transactions. Jonathan subsequently spent two years in the British Virgin Islands specialising in international and structured finance, joint ventures, private equity and investment funds. He joined Walkers in London in 2005 and was made partner in 2009 and managing partner of the Jersey office in April 2014.
