Paddy Rath is based in Walkers’ Ireland office where he is a Partner in the firm’s Finance and Capital Markets team. Paddy’s principal practice areas are finance and capital markets, securitisation, private equity, distressed investment and corporate restructuring.
In particular, Paddy advises on Irish and EU legal and regulatory aspects of the establishment, financing, operation and management of Irish special purpose vehicles and other investment vehicles which acquire a broad range of asset classes (including loans, mortgages, receivables, distressed assets and insurance-linked securities) from around the world.
Paddy also regularly advises borrowers and lenders in relation to various lending transactions from short-term unsecured loans to multi-currency syndicated loans and revolving facilities.

Walkers has a major presence in structured finance and securitisation, especially in the CLO segment, along with the CMBS and RMBS spaces. It is also building its profile in green, social and sustainable bonds.
