Urszula Wojtyra practices in the field of life sciences, including pharmaceuticals and biologics, and is a key member of the firm’s litigation team. Urszula represents innovative pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical companies in patent litigation. Drawing on her advanced technical expertise and her incisive courtroom advocacy skills, she offers clients effective long-term strategic planning for their complex litigation matters. She regularly represents clients in patent infringement and validity actions, including under the Patented Medicines (Notice of Compliance) Regulations, before both the Federal Court and the Federal Court of Appeal of Canada. Urszula advises clients on regulatory due diligence, regulatory compliance issues and has broad expertise in regulatory matters in Canada. Prior to attending law school, Urszula obtained her Master in biochemistry from the University of Toronto and worked in an immunology research laboratory in Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children. Urszula has been recognized as a leading lawyer for IP and Biotechnology Law by Best Lawyers, a “Future Star” by Benchmark Litigation,  Euromoney LMG Expert Guides, is a Lexpertranked lawyer for IP, IP Litigation, Health Sciences, and Biotechnology Law, and was previously awarded the “Rising Star: IP” award in 2018 at the Americas Women in Business Law Awards by Euromoney LMG.
