François Guay is a principal in Smart & Biggar’s Montreal office. He has over 40 years of in-depth IP litigation experience and is among the most experienced IP litigators in Canada. François has appeared before the Courts of Québec and the Federal Court of Canada, and his case work in Marlboro Canada Limited v Philip Morris Products SA and Bell Canada et al v 1326030 Ontario Inc dba ITVBox.net et al. were both recognized with a “Milestone Case of the Year Award” from Managing Intellectual Property. Most recently, François was named Canada’s IP Litigator of the Year by Benchmark Canada and IP lawyer of the Year by Best Lawyers.
