Guillaume Lavoie Ste-Marie is a Principal in the firm’s Montreal office. He is a trademark, copyright, and patent litigator who is trusted by his clients to put in place practical and result-driven litigation strategies in complex IP matters. Guillaume represents local, national and international clients in a diverse array of industries, including motion picture and other media, broadcasting, retail goods, personal care products, sports equipment, food and beverage and industrial products. In addition to being involved in all aspects of intellectual property litigation before the Federal Court, the Federal Court of Appeal and the Superior Court of Québec, Guillaume has particular experience in managing large-scale, multi-party litigation and in seeking and executing complex extraordinary remedies such as Anton Piller orders, interim and interlocutory injunctions, Mareva injunctions and contempt orders before the Federal Court in copyright and patent matters. Guillaume has been recognized in numerous publications including Managing IP as a “Notable Practitioner”, The Best Lawyers Canada as a “Best Lawyer in IP Law”, WIPR as a “World IP Review Leader”, The Legal 500 as a “Rising Star in IP”, Expert Guides: Rising Stars as a “Rising Star in Copyrights”, and Lexpert as a “Leading Canadian Litigator”.
