Career

Asaf Jiménez joined the firm in 2000, was promoted to counsel in 2014 and has been a partner since 2018. He has participated in financing transactions for more than 20 years, with particular focus on project finance transactions in the electricity and other infrastructure sectors, where he has represented developers, investors and financial institutions. His project practice encompasses transactions involving federal and local public-private partnerships, public works and other public procurement schemes. His M&A practice also relates mainly to transactions in the electricity and other infrastructure sectors.

Asaf has substantial experience in financing transactions involving federal, state and municipal governments providing advice to debtors, creditors and credit rating agencies.

He worked as a foreign associate in the projects and energy group of Clifford Chance in Washington DC (2006–2007).

The group is frequently instructed by local and international banks (acting as lenders or sponsors), as well as by corporate clients in the energy and hydrocarbons segments. The practice is co-directed by an experienced duo: Federico Santacruz González has a notable track record participating in public auction processes for the acquisition of energy certificates, and also handles projects-related M&A and financing; and Jorge Oria Anaya represents sponsors and lenders in energy, infrastructure and power transactions. Gabriel Del Valle deals with cross-border financial transactions, particularly project finance, structured finance and capital markets; while Asaf Jimenez Adorno specialises in the electricity sector, M&A and finance. Alejandra Echeverría González also covers finance and the acquisition of energy and infrastructure assets. Senior associate Marco Portillo handles energy, hydrocarbons, ESG and compliance.
