Career

Pablo Perezalonso joined the firm in 1994, has been a partner since 2000 and currently serves as managing partner. He has more than 25 years of experience advising on international banking and securities transactions, banking regulation and derivative financial transactions, capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, as well as data protection and fintech regulatory matters.

Pablo has advised Mexican and foreign financial institutions on both debt and equity issues through complex instruments including structured notes, warrants, tracs and capital notes. He has also participated in the structuring and restructuring secured and unsecured credit facilities for Mexican private and public sector borrowers.

Prior to joining the firm in 1994, Pablo participated in the North American Free Trade Agreement negotiations as part of the Mexican government’s legal team from 1991 to 1993. He also worked as a foreign associate at Milbank in New York (1993–1994).

He is currently an independent member of the board of directors of JP Morgan.

Ritch, Mueller y Nicolau, S.C. houses an ‘interdisciplinary team with deep knowledge of the Mexican capital markets arena’ that represents issuers, international and local broker-dealers and investment banks in private and public offerings of debt and equity securities by Mexican issuers – primarily on the international markets. In the domestic arena, the group’s expertise encompasses equity, debt and structured securities offerings, including asset-backed securities, CKDs, CERPIs, FIBRAS-E (MLPs), real estate FIBRAs and bank capitalisation notes. The practice is co-led by well known figure Luis Nicolau, who is deeply experienced at assisting underwriters and issuers with debt and equity offerings; and Gabriel del Valle Mendiola, who handles private and public offerings of debt and equity securities.
