Career

His practice focuses on domestic and international private equity investments, transfer of assets, structuring of transactions, business contracts and financing. His areas of expertise include commercial law, restructuring, M&A, corporate governance and compliance.

For over 15 years, he has represented national and international clients on subjects ranging from ongoing commercial activities to more complex business dealings and corporate finance.  He participates as lead counsel on transactions involving other specialists in Mexico as well as Meritas’ affiliates around the world for renowned transnational clients.

In recent years, he has coordinated the corporate structure and business start up of companies such as Crocs, Nypro, Mailhot, Monier. He has also organized the restructuring and/or revision of By-laws of Holding and Subsidiaries of groups such as Amcor, Omnilife, ZFSachs.In addition, Mr. Cuesta provides ongoing legal advise to Sanmina, Subway, Sunningdale, Vanderlande. Fernando Cuesta belongs to the Board of Directors of some of the aforementioned companies and/or acts as lead Mexican Counsel.
