Conyers Dill & Pearman attracts praise for its assistance with the creation of private trust companies, cross-border restructurings and the modification and variation of trusts. The team also has a robust contentious trust practice, which handles the protection of family wealth from divorce and other litigation. Director Alec Anderson is global head of private client and trusts, as well as being president of the firm's Trust Services, a licensed trust company and controlled affiliate of the firm. Anderson specialises in trust and estate planning for international private clients, and advises professional trustees on trust law liability and trust structuring issues. Also recommended is Craig MacIntyre, whose practice encompasses a broad spectrum of trust, company, estate planning and asset protection opportunities; his recent experience includes advising a high-profile family on establishing multiple US foreign grantor trusts for next generation succession planning and the establishment of a family philanthropic entity. Helen Cooper also advised on the complex reorganisation of a Bermuda law trust structure to facilitate the sale of a UK retail business. Peter Pearman and Karen Corless are also key to the group, and Stephanie Bernard was promoted to counsel in 2019.
