Within: Dispute resolution

Conyers Dill & Pearman's Bermuda litigation and restructuring practice 'has excellent knowledge of the law in relation to all aspects of dispute resolution; its lawyers possess first-class judgment and a commitment to the interests of their clients'. The team is recommended for international commercial litigation, insurance and reinsurance claims, trust disputes and restructuring and insolvency matters. The team advised Seadrill on its group restructuring, including the commencement of winding-up proceedings in Bermuda that were parallel with chapter 11 proceedings under the US Bankruptcy Code; it also handled the successful defence of a shareholder's challenge to the restructuring. Christian Luthi heads the litigation and restructuring department in Bermuda; Jeffrey Elkinson has acted in several leading trust cases in Bermuda; Ben Adamson is recommended for high-value, cross-border commercial and trust disputes; and Scott Pearman is noted for disputes involving business, employment law and trusts as well as insurance and reinsurance, and media and information law. Rhys Williams is a key associate; new associate joiners include Jonathan O’Mahony from London's Three Stone and Karol Ann Randles from JW O'Donovan Solicitors in Ireland. Meanwhile, former Bermuda litigation and restructuring head Narinder Hargun left to become the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Robin Mayor retired, and former associate Stephanie Hanson took an in-house counsel role.
