Position

Sharon is an investment funds and corporate lawyer who specializes in a wide range of funds including private equity, venture capital, infrastructure and real estate funds and hedge funds and also in private equity upstream and downstream transactions.  Sharon’s broad experience includes advising on the structuring, formation, maintenance and re-structuring of funds and related vehicles, investment structuring, acquisition and disposal of assets, joint ventures, pre-IPO financing and fund financing involving a range of fund vehicles.  Her clients include leading global private equity investment firms and financial institutions, investment banks, state-owned enterprises, sovereign wealth funds and some of the biggest securities houses in China and Japan plus boutique and start-up managers.   Sharon’s expertise has led her to be a regular speaker at funds seminars throughout Asia.

Career

Sharon joined the Maples Group in 2008 and was elected as a partner in 2016.  She previously worked for a law firm in Jersey and, before that, was an in-house lawyer for Westpac Banking Corporation, having initially worked for Bell Gully in New Zealand.
