Career

John Lorito is Head of the Tax Group. His general income tax practice focuses on the areas of corporate reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, investment funds, REITs, international tax planning and dispute resolution. He has appeared as tax counsel in cases before the Tax Court of Canada and the Federal Court of Appeal and has been a lecturer at the University of Toronto and the University of Western Ontario. John is a member of the Canadian Bar Association (Taxation Law Section), Canadian Tax Foundation, American Bar Association and International Fiscal Association. He was also a member of the CICA-CBA joint committee on taxation and has served as tax counsel to the Insurance Bureau of Canada.
