Career

Sérgio Farina Filho specializes in tax litigation at the administrative and court spheres, tax advisory, tax planning and due diligence investigations. In the course of his career, he has steered national cases of international prominence. Sérgio has consistently been recognized as a leading practitioner by several guides and rankings in Brazil and abroad.

Sérgio Farina Filho coordinates the Tax area at Pinheiro Neto Advogados (since 2011), which is made up of 20 partners and totals 126 tax practitioners. Sérgo joined the firm in 1981, becoming a partner in 1993. He concentrates his practice in tax litigation in the court and administrative spheres, tax advisory, legal due diligence and tax planning. During his career he has led national cases of international prominence. His outstanding practice has been recognized by several guides and rankings in Brazil and abroad. In-house, he is also dedicated to the professional improvement of lawyers and to team building. He is a member of FGV Direito SP’s special mentoring program. He is a statutory director of CESA – Center for the Study of Law Firms, where he coordinated the Tax Committee. He is a former member of the Law Firms Committee of OAB-SP; professor at the Escola Superior de Advocacia, in the Taxation of Law Firms course.
