Brazil > Competition and antitrust
Noted for its ‘personalised and agile service‘, Pinheiro Neto Advogados has a well-established reputation in Brazil, and its competition department remains at the forefront of the market. With comprehensive coverage in this field, the team is a popular choice for major domestic and international companies in merger reviews and investigations before CADE. The firm also stands out for its ability to represent clients in judicial litigation, still a relatively nascent area in Brazil; the antitrust group’s origins in the litigation department make it particularly well placed for these cases. Also of note is the firm’s highly regarded M&A department, which ensures a regular flow of merger filings, including in multi-jurisdictional deals. Cristianne Zarzur
is a well-known competition expert in the market; her expertise covers merger control, anti-competitive practices and compliance. Antitrust and international trade specialist Renê Medrado, competition and compliance expert José Alexandre Buaiz Neto, and Leonardo Rocha e Silva in Brasília are also key senior figures in the team. Daniel Costa Rebello and associate Alessandro Pezzolo Giacaglia are additional names to note. In a rare move, the firm hired former CADE official Amanda Athayde in July 2022.
