Winston & Strawn LLP has a highly regarded practice group comprising 30 professionals primarily based in Chicago. Recent highlights included assisting Applied Materials with complex ERISA fiduciary, securities and IRS requirements involving the termination of the company’s $400m common stock fund held in its 401(k) plan. Co-head Nancy Gerrie, of counsel James Isaac and associate Juliet Rognile handled the matter. Also of note, David Rogers, Brian Benko, Ruth Wimer and Joanna Kerpen in the Washington DC office are advising Embraer Aircraft Holding on its health and welfare and retirement plans, and are also assisting leisure travel company Carnival Corporation with its domestic and international benefits and compensation plans. Susan Nash, with assistance from Amy Gordon and Marcus Garcia, is lead counsel to Starbucks regarding the adoption of a private healthcare exchange for its employees.
