With particular strength in project financing work, the team at White & Case Pte. Ltd. is regularly instructed to advise on some of the largest and most cutting-edge projects in Asia. The Singapore office has been the focus of much recent consolidation at the senior level; following the relocation of Saul Daniel – who co-heads the Asia Pacific energy industry group – from Houston in May 2020, the team welcomed Tim Fourteau and Jamie Franklin, both formerly of Latham & Watkins LLP, in December 2020. They join such established names as Matthew OsborneFergus Smith and associate Cristian Blumm. Areas of particular expertise and growth for the group include renewables, particularly offshore wind, oil and gas, and LNG. White & Case Pte. Ltd. has continued to develop its Singapore energy practice with highly rated power and LNG projects specialist Tim Fourteau joining from Latham & Watkins LLP in early 2021, along with wider energy project development and finance expert Jamie Franklin. They join a team that has built an impressive standing in big-ticket oil and gas projects and which is also at the forefront of wind and solar power projects around Asia and elsewhere. The Singapore group is particularly noted for wind projects in Taiwan and across Asia Pacific, with the team often working alongside colleagues in Australia. Fergus Smith and Matthew Osborne have made a particular impression in the renewable energy, conventional power and oil and gas area. Saul Daniel is the co-head of the Asia Pacific energy group, and is a recognised senior name in oil and gas, having transferred to Singapore from Houston in May 2020. Counsel Ee Lynn Tan also impresses in oil and gas and power projects.

Philippines > Foreign firms

Having expanded its Philippine practice in recent years, White & Case Pte. Ltd. now covers various sectors with a particular focus on infrastructure and power projects. Matthew Osborne is a specialist in this area with almost two decades of experience advising grantors, sponsors, JV participants and financiers in relation to the delivery of major power, infrastructure and construction projects, particularly in the energy, resources, utilities and transport sectors. The firm also has extensive experience advising Philippine conglomerates on outbound investments, as well as multinational companies and private equity firms on their inbound investments and cross-border activities involving the Philippines.
