In a highlight example of its multi-jurisdictional prowess, group head John Vetterli, who splits his time between New York and Sao Paulo, acted with the Sao Paulo office to advise Argentina-based Loma Negra Compañía Industrial Argentina Sociedad Anónima on its IPO and listing of American depositary shares on the NYSE, totaling $1.1bn. The firm also secures a steady stream of sizeable domestic mandates. Most notably, Colin Diamond, who ‘combines broad knowledge with creative thinking’, and Holt Goddard advised the underwriters on BJ’s Wholesale Club Holdings’ $733m IPO and also on its $837.2m secondary offering. Diamond and Goddard also paired up to advise HNA Tourism Group on the $1.3bn sale of the common stock of Park Hotels & Resorts and the subsequent repurchase by Park of 14 million shares. Vetterli also acted alongside emerging markets specialist Colin Diamond, noted for his ‘broad knowledge and out-of-the-box thinking’, to advise the underwriters on the $1.4bn IPO and Nasdaq listing of Brazil-headquartered StoneCo. On the debt side, Andrew Weisberg, with support from the London office, advised the underwriters on a $4.7bn notes offering by Syngenta Finance.
