Work Department

Jessie is a Principal Associate in our Human Resources Practice Group and she specialises in both employment law and business immigration.

Her contentious experience includes defending cases (for public and private sector clients) involving large scale equal pay claims and high value claims based on discrimination of all types, whistle blowing, unfair dismissals and breach of contract issues. Jessie also has a great deal of experience dealing with claims resulting from the non-selection of candidates both for initial appointment / promotion and particular claims which carry significant reputational risks for client organisations. Jessie is a keen advocate and has successfully defended complex discrimination claims and recovered wasted costs. Her non-contentious experience includes general day to day HR/ER advice, managing complex investigations, disciplinaries and grievances, executive terminations, sickness and absence management and business restructuring/redundancies. Her clients include well known multi-national businesses, FTSE 100 companies and Global organisations. She also regularly provides training to public and private sector clients on a variety of employment law topics and will lead on the design on bespoke training plans for staff.

Jessie is also a business immigration specialist and works with a number of private sector and NHS clients on strategic and practical issues arising from international recruitment. Jessie's work includes obtaining permission for applicants to live and work in the UK, advising on employer obligations as registered sponsors and regularly submits applications under the Points Based System. Jessie has particular experience in handling queries regarding the prevention of illegal working and immigration issues arising from the recruitment process. Jessie often provides immigration training to clients and prepares articles for sector specific publications.

The new currency control system will be launched on 7 February 2019, the same day as the Law of Ukraine  On Currency and Exchange Transactions  becomes applicable.
