Christof Lamberts is a founding partner of Eversheds in Germany and head of the German M&A practice group. He regularly leads teams advising on cross-border takeovers as well as sales or corporate venture and private equity deals. He regularly provides advice within the framework of international bidding processes and coordinates global due diligence teams. Major international corporations, listed companies as well as venture capital and private equity companies count among his regular clients to whom he provides comprehensive tailor-made legal advice.

Christof is a member of the British Chamber of Commerce in Germany and the DFV Deutscher Franchiseverband e.V. (German Franchise Association).

Christof was educated in law at the University of Munich as well as mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Munich. He has been a Partner at Eversheds since 2001.

Christof is recognised as a leading M&A lawyer by Best Lawyers, Legal 500, both in its EMEA and Germany edition, and by Germany’s JUVE Handbook, where he additionally is being recommended for corporate law.

  • Starbucks in the sale of its German retail business to Poland’s AmRest
  • 3M Company and its subsidiaries in various corporate venture deals and M&A transactions
  • Airbus Defence & Security in the restructuring and divesture of its commercial satellite business
  • AZ Electronic Materials in its acquisition of Clariant’s polysilazane coatings business
  • Parker Hannifin in various cross-border acquisitions including post-merger integration
  • Teacher Retirement System of Texas in the acquisition of KBC Deutschland AG from Belgium‘s KBC Bank
  • TriMas in various M&A transactions including a recent tender for the proposed € 200m acquisition of a multinational plastics manufacturer
  • United Drug in its acquisition of Pharmexx Group with 34 subsidiaries in 18 countries

Eversheds Sutherland ‘speaks the client’s language’ and offers ‘pragmatic advice’. It regularly advises German, foreign and international clients on acquisitions. For example, the group advised US data centre operator CyrusOne on the $442m acquisition of Zenium Data Centers; assisted Shell with the €340m acquisition of energy supplier and cable network operator First Utility; and acted for Finnish engine and power plant group Wärtsilä on the €210m acquisition of navigation specialist Transas. Within Christof Lamberts’ team, Christophe Samson and Sven Schweneke, who ‘adheres to time and resource constraints’, are noted. Holger Holle made partner in May 2018 and Maximilian Findeisen joined from Mütze Korsch Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH in October 2018.
