Matthew is a partner in and head of our Northern Ireland Dispute Resolution & Litigation team. Matthew is an experienced litigator and is particularly proficient in financial services and commercial litigation, including amongst other things procurement litigation and insurance litigation. Matthew has a keen interest in the use of Alternative Dispute Resolution models. Matthew advises a range of clients across the public and private sector, including local councils in Northern Ireland, major banks, insolvency practitioners, and in house legal and other teams at a range of companies, both indigenous Northern Irish and multinationals, across different sectors. Matthew is a member of R3, the UK insolvency practitioner community’s representative body, and sits on a number of different committees at the Law Society of Northern Ireland. Matthew trained in England at national firm Gateley Plc. On moving to Northern Ireland in 2010, Matthew joined the litigation department of a major Irish law firm. Matthew moved to Eversheds Sutherland in September 2018.
