Mr Grzegorz Kott
Grzegorz Kott is an attorney-at-law and of counsel in the banking and finance team at Eversheds Sutherland Poland. He specializes in banking, consumer finance, capital markets and insurance law as well as commercial and civil law.
He has over 25 years’ experience providing legal advice to domestic and international businesses in financial markets as well as other areas of business. He has also worked at international consulting firms in their tax and legal departments.
He provides day-to-day legal assistance to companies, including financial institutions such as banks, consumer lenders, investments funds, insurers and leasing providers. He drafts and reviews internal bylaws, general terms of contract, templates for basic documents necessary for the client’s business, agreements with transfer agents and depositaries, and the like. He advises on establishment, acquisition and restructuring of businesses, including entities operating on financial markets. He also advises on private equity transactions. He negotiates credit facility documentation, including security packages, contracts for sale of receivables, and other similar contracts.
Grzegorz advises on consumer regulations, in particular involving consumer finance, distance and off-premises sales, abusive clauses, and other issues connected with consumer contracts. He advises on disputes with consumer market regulators. He takes part in creation and review of sales structures from the perspective of compliance with consumer regulations. He is also the co-author of a commentary on the Consumer Credit Act. (C. H. Beck, 2012). He is a
co-author of the chapter “Information restrictions in financial services advertising and fairness of competition"; in the book entitled “Information restrictions in financial services advertising and fairness of competition" in the book entitled “Information in the financial services market" (Polskie Wydawnictwo Ekonomiczne, 2019).
