Anthony is the UK Head of our Financial Services Disputes and Investigations Group.

The team has over 275 lawyers headquartered in London and operating in over 30 markets. It is called upon by clients – particularly global banks, fund managers and regulated global corporates – to contain risk, build compliance programmes, run investigations and manage disputes.

The team is particularly well-known for its work in those investigations and inquiries large enough to present systemic risk to financial institutions. For example, the team has handled mis-selling investigations worth several billion dollars each and has been appointed to the FCA/PRA Skilled Person Panel for Governance, Controls & Risk Frameworks, Conduct of Business and Financial Crime.

FSDI offer cross-border advice and dispute management services in financial centres around the globe with top-ranked specialists in regulatory enforcement, bribery and corruption, competition and antitrust, fraud, insurance matters and money laundering.

Anthony has over 16 years experience as a financial services lawyer and has acted for leading UK and international companies including Lloyds, Barclays, Santander, HSBC, Morgan Stanley and L&G

Anthony has particular experience in recoveries litigation for commercial and retail banking, insurance and utilities clients and in defending lenders against breach of contract and mandate claims . His reported cases include Keates v. Haringey LBC [2010] UKUT 392 (LC), Cordin & Others v. Newport City Council [2009] EWHC (TCC) and Essentially Different plc v. Bank of Scotland plc [2011] EWHC 475 (Comm).

He currently leads the UK's largest mortgage enforcement team handling over 15,000 retail mortgage repossession instructions per annum for 15 of the top 20 1st and 2nd charge lenders in England & Wales, Scotland and the Republic of Ireland.
