Owen is a partner in our Human Resources Practice Group specialising in employment law.
Owen has particular experience in trade union recognition and industrial action cases and age and disability discrimination law.
Owen is editor of the collective labour law parts of Harvey on Industrial Relations and Employment Law, the leading textbook in this field.
Owen is also Professor of Employment Law at the University of East Anglia. He is joint author of "Employment Law in the NHS" (Thomson 2007). He also frequently lectures at conferences in the UK, continental Europe and the USA.
Owen also has a specialisation in the law of food labelling, advertising and composition. Owen was the main contributor to the 2000 re-issue of the Food title in Halsbury's Laws of England. He is a member of the UK's special interest body for food lawyers the Food Law Group.
