Steven is a Partner in the Human Resources Practice Group, specialising in pensions law. Before joining Eversheds, Steven was head of pensions at a silver circle international law firm.

Steven advises trustees and employers on all aspects of UK pensions law. Steven's experience includes pension scheme restructurings and mergers, the closure of schemes to the future accrual, changes in benefit structure, deficit reduction strategies, asset-backed funding arrangements reservoir trusts and escrow accounts, scheme funding negotiations, rectification of incorrect benefits, the pensions aspects of corporate transactions, restructurings, administrations and insolvencies, and funding and moral hazard disputes before the Pensions Regulator.
 
His recent experience includes:
acting for the trustees of a defined benefit pension scheme in a Part III scheme funding dispute before the Pensions Regulator;
establishing an asset-backed funding arrangement using real estate assets to resolve scheme funding negotiations and in support of an application to the High Court to approve an RPI to CPI change;
numerous high-profile regulated apportionment arrangements, including Jessops Plc, Reader's Digest, Liberata and Kodak;
advising trustees of numerous schemes in pursuing and resolving substantial equalisation and revaluation claims.
 
Steven is a member of the Association of Pension Lawyers, the Society of Pension Consultants, is an Associate of the Pensions Management Institute and speaks regularly at pensions industry conferences and seminars.
