Work Department

David is a Senior Associate in the London pensions team. He qualified as a solicitor and joined Eversheds in 2011. He advises trustees and corporate clients on all aspects of pensions law.

He has experience advising on general day-to-day matters such as individual member and technical queries, as well as larger projects such as de-risking solutions, mergers, governance reviews, benefit changes and funding negotiations.

David's recent projects include: advising trustees in relation to a scheme merger; advising employers on the impact of legislative changes and the options available to them; acting for employers and trustees in relation to scheme funding negotiations and assisting with parent company guarantees and other security documents; advising trustees in relation to High Court litigation proceedings instigated by the scheme's principal employer; advising employers and trustees on amendments to, or rewrites of, scheme rules and other documentation; advising insurers in relation to a buy-in transaction; and advising trustees on the effect of changes to the employer's business, including advice in relation to employer debt, anti-avoidance and clearance.

David also has experience providing training in respect of key pensions legislation and proposed or recent changes and recently spoke at a client briefing on the new flexibilities for defined contribution pensions.

David is an associate member of the Association of Pension Lawyers.
