James is an senior associate in our financial institutions group specialising in financial services regulation, FinTech and hedge funds. His regulatory work includes advisory, project and transactional work in connection with the MiFID, CRD, the FCA Handbook and PRA Rulebook, the AIFMD and UCITS Directives, PSD2, passporting, authorisation and conduct of business issues. He advises FinTech clients including start-ups and large institutions, specialising in automated advice, blockchain and cryptoassets. James is an editor of Frontiers in Blockchain. His hedge fund work focusses on first time managers, and he has lectured on the Henley Executive Hedge Fund Spring Programme.
