Douglas is a Principal Associate in our Litigation and Dispute Management Team. Douglas has significant experience in advising on contentious financial services and markets regulatory disputes both in private practice and previously, whilst working in the FCA’s Enforcement and Financial Crime Division. He specialises in representing financial institutions and prominent individuals within those institutions in FCA enforcement matters including, where required, at the RDC and Upper Tribunal levels.

Douglas’ recent FCA enforcement work has included the management of regulated funds and alleged breaches of the COLL rules, serious conflicts of interest allegations, allegations of failings under the transaction reporting regime, market abuse cases and insider dealing issues, various systems and controls failings, information security breaches and data loss, fraud in the context of regulated financial services business, breaches of the financial promotions regime, product mis-selling, the client money and assets regime and investigations into misconduct by holders of significant influence functions.

In addition to his FCA enforcement work, Douglas also advises clients in respect of other contentious issues including AIM Disciplinary Committee
