Stephen Hill
Work Department
Stephen is a partner in our corporate practice. He has worked on a wide variety of national and international corporate transactions from company starts ups and venture capital funding, mergers, acquisitions and disposals, private equity, infrastructure and other fund raising (acting for both management and funder) and trade exits.
Stephen acts for a number of UK and overseas major corporate including Tyco (ADT), E.ON, British Gas and Balfour Beatty. He acts for a number of infrastructure, private equity and VCT institutions including Black Rock, InfraRed, Zouk, Albion Ventures, Guinness Asset Management and Triple Point.
Stephen has a particular focus on the clean energy sector. He has been involved in a number of high profile transactions in the clean energy sector including the £120m sale of CLP Envirogas to Macquarie, the sale of a wind farm and biomass portfolio to Infinis (Terra Firma), a number of Round 2 and Round 3 offshore wind bids, the sale of Homesun to Aviva and the acquisition by InfraRed of solar PV assets. He leads the solar team within Eversheds and is client partner for a number of international solar PV and biomass developers. Stephen has chaired discussion groups at international renewable energy conferences.

The practice at Eversheds Sutherland (International) LLP is adept in all aspects of energy, from drafting and negotiation to mergers and acquisitions in cases involving such areas of focus as tidal energy, battery storage and interconnectors. David Wyles joined the practice in April 2023 from Herbert Smith Freehills LLP. Further team changes to note include the departures of Andrew Duckworth to an in-house position in November 2022 and of Greg Falkof to Mishcon de Reya LLP in December 2022. The team is led by Stephen Hill. Robert Broom has joined from Ernst & Young LLP.
