Chloe Gastrell (née Chittock)

Chloe is a Senior Associate in our IP and media team.
Chloe advises on IP infringement claims in relation to a broad range of IP rights, from initial stages through to court action, as well as defamation actions. She also advises on television, radio, print, web and social media advertising materials, the advertising codes, terms and conditions for consumer competitions, and supply of goods and services agreements.
Chloe is part of our Consumer sector group and works for a number of clients in the food and drink and retail industries. She has particular expertise in consumer-facing promotions and advertising claims.
Her experience includes:
Assisting with proceedings for trade mark infringement and passing off, and enforcement of court order obtained, for a national storage company.
Assisting with defending an injunction application brought to prevent the European launch of a product by an international pharmaceutical company.
Advising a major UK retailer on infringement claims brought against and by the retailer.
Advising a bank on a £5million advertising campaign involving clearance of a television advert by Clearcast, and radio, print, web and social media materials.
Advising a global food manufacturer on compliance of promotions with the advertising codes, competition terms and conditions and supply agreements.
Upon qualification, Chloe spent 10 months on secondment to a leading insurer. Chloe has also undertaken a 3 month secondment to a drinks manufacturer to assist with reputation management, advertising and branding issues. In 2013 Chloe spent two months on secondment to a major UK retailer and assisted with a variety of intellectual property and commercial issues.
Chloe trained at Eversheds and has also completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and Practice from the University of Oxford.
