Stuart Andrews

Stuart is a specialist planning lawyer and leads the National Planning Team at Eversheds LLP. He is a dual qualified town planner and solicitor and is both a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute and the Law Society Planning Panel.
His experience includes major town centre schemes, large urban regeneration projects and strategic residential development proposals. He has particular expertise in the promotion of redevelopment projects involving complex compulsory purchase orders, substantial highway orders and associated environmental assessment. This experience has involved the conduct of major development projects through application, appeal and other proceedings. Stuart is an experienced advocate and has extensive experience in the negotiation and drafting of complex planning agreements. He also has considerable experience of all aspects of appeal court proceedings, including judicial review.
His recent experience includes advising in connection with the Section 106 Agreement required for the £1.4bn regeneration of Elephant and Castle, the promotion of an outline planning application scheme for the redevelopment of the former RAF Uxbridge site, the redevelopment of Twickenham Station, the conduct of conjoined appeal proceedings in connection with proposed urban extensions to Daventry totalling some 10,000 dwellings and advising on the proposed sustainable urban extension of some 5,500 houses to the south east of Milton Keynes.
Stuart is described in Chambers as being singled out for combining "outstanding legal and commercial good sense with an approachable manner" and by competitors as "… one of the people I would least like to see on the other side at an Inquiry". He is consistently listed in the top 5 planning lawyers in the UK by Planning magazine.
