Chris is a consultant in our shipping and international trade group.
He has practised in this area of work for 35 years and has consistently been recognised by the legal directories as a leader in his field. He handles all types of shipping and trade disputes (both "wet" and "dry") as well as numerous commercial matters.
His recent work includes: advising on cargo and charterparty disputes; shipbuilding and repair disputes; collision, salvage and unsafe port claims; drafting and interpretation of contracts of insurance including P&I rules; drafting and negotiating shipbuilding documentation in several jurisdictions.
Chris has been on the drafting committees for various international standard documents, including Newbuildcon, Shipman, Crewman and Barecon and currently chairs the committee that is updating the Shipman contract.
He is a Notary Public, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a CEDR accredited mediator.
