Stephanie joined Eversheds in 2008 and specialises in planning, compulsory purchase and highways law, including high court challenges and judicial review. She advises clients on the form and content of major planning applications, to ensure robust permissions; listed buildings; environmental assessment issues; and formulating the case for, and promoting, compulsory purchase orders, and compensation claims arising from compulsory purchase.

Stephanie’s recent experience includes:

  • advising Lend Lease on all planning, highways and compulsory purchase aspects of the 100,000 sqm extension to the Touchwood shopping centre in Solihull;
  • advising the joint venture between the Crown Estate and Land Securities on all planning, highways and compulsory purchase matters in respect of the £400 million redevelopment of the Westgate Centre in Oxford;
  • advising a partnership between Westfield and Hammerson on CPO compensation matters relating to the 136,500 sqm extension to the Whitgift Centre in Croydon;
  • advising Hammerson on the redevelopment strategy for the existing Cabot Circus development in Bristol;
  • advising HS2 in respect of blight issues and multi-million pound advance payments of compensation relating to Phase 1 of the project;
  • advising BAE Systems in respect of the planning applications for the Successor Facility Investment Programme at Barrow, to facilitate the design, development and construction of the next generation of nuclear deterrent submarines;
  • acting for Manchester United in respect of the proposed Metrolink tram extension in order to protect their match day operations; and
  • securing a settlement agreement for Hovis to safeguard ongoing operations of one of their largest flour production mills in the UK in the face of compulsory purchase proposals.
  • Stephanie speaks regularly at internal and external seminars and training events including for the Royal Town Planning Institute.
