Brexit and the legal implications for businesses

Simon leads the Technology Group based in our Leeds office and specialises in the negotiation of IT and business process outsourcing contracts for both the suppliers and the users (both private and public sector) of such services alongside systems integration contracts, cloud computing, agile systems development and e-commerce matters.

Simon is also a member of Practical Law for Companies editorial board on IT matters and is responsible for a number of PLC’s guidance notes and precedents relating to outsourcing, computer system contracts and general commercial matters and is highly rated in the latest Legal 500 as “an excellent negotiator”. As such, Simon is recognised as a leading practitioner in the technology sector.

Some highlights include:

  • Advising on the UK’s largest ever civil government procurement of IT services 
  • Advising a FTSE 100 supplier of IT and business process services to a wide range of customers in the private and public sectors including the provision of outsourced contact centre services to numerous clients in the retail, financial services and telecommunications services sectors 
  • Advising a leading department store on a range of contracts relating to its “multi-channel” offering 
  • Advising a government agency on the procurement of outsourced services for desktop and applications hosting services 
  • Advising a high street bank on the development of a card processing payment platform

In addition to the technology sector, Simon is actively involved in both the automotive and retail sectors and has wide ranging expertise in relation to the licensing of high value brands, the negotiation of television rights to major sporting events, the establishment of new sporting events and a wide range of commercial matters relating to agency, distribution, logistics and supply matters
