Emily is an Associate in the Corporate Compliance team of our Litigation and Dispute Management group. She specialises in corporate criminal defence, regulatory compliance and enforcement.

Her practice includes acting for individuals and corporations in defence of proceedings brought by the Health and Safety Executive, Environment Agency, Police, Local Authorities and other regulatory bodies.

Emily also provides non-contentious compliance advice including reviewing health and safety policies and management systems and advising clients on compliance with food safety, product and machinery regulations.

Her recent experience includes: acting for a plc in respect of a sub-contractor fatality and subsequent corporate manslaughter investigation; assisting in the defence of a prosecution by a Local Authority of a company and its managing director following a fatal accident; and, assisting an education sector client in the investigation of COSHH compliance.

Emily also has notable experience in the transport sector, having spent six-months on secondment to the in-house legal team at Network Rail.
