Charlotte is a senior associate in our Environment, Health and Safety Team, specialising in corporate criminal defence work and advising on regulatory compliance. She has particular specialism in health and safety, fire safety and contentious food safety advice. She has represented both individuals and companies at every stage of the court process and has dealt with a variety of regulators including the HSE and local authorities. Charlotte advises across a range of sectors but predominately focuses on the Energy and Governments and Infrastructure sectors. Her recent experience includes: undertaking secondments at a household name utility company advising on health, safety and environmental matters; undertaking a number of risk management and legal compliance reviews and advising on practical business focussed recommendations; carrying out a number of investigations arising out of employee (and contractor) exposure to asbestos; advising a company during the course of a corporate manslaughter investigation following the death of a contractor involving heavy plant; advising a number of large organisations on appealing notices of contraventions, prohibition and improvement notices including an incident in which an interlock was bypassed; and advising an organisation on its response to noise nuisance allegations. In recognition of her expertise and dedication to clients Charlotte was shortlisted as a 'Rising Star' at the Yorkshire Legal Awards in 2020.
