Career

Nitish heads the litigation and dispute resolution department. He was called to the Bar of England and Wales, at the Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn in 2003 and then worked for a reputable legal assistance provider and subsequently at a firm of solicitors in London.

He left the UK in 2005 and was admitted to the Mauritian Bar the following year. Since then, he has been a practising barrister involved in both litigation and advisory work.

As external counsel for the owners of a portfolio of international famous brands, Nitish has extensive experience in intellectual property matters. He has appeared in a number of noteworthy cases in that field and has intervened in various workshops and conferences, including one co-hosted by the World Intellectual Property Organisation.

Nitish is very active in data protection and has a particular interest in the development of the legal framework surrounding digital transformation in Africa. He forms part of the Microsoft OCN, a network of trusted policy and technology experts who contribute to the policy and regulatory discussions and changes that are needed to advance the digital transformation journey of the region.
