A partner in Simpson Thacher’s Tax Practice, Drew Purcell advises clients on an array of tax matters, including mergers and acquisitions, spin-offs, IPO and capital market transactions, credit transactions and private equity fund formations. Drew’s clients have included Blackstone, Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets, New Mountain Capital, Silver Lake, Cerberus, Hilton Worldwide and Ingersoll Rand.
Career
Drew joined Simpson Thacher in 2008 and was made partner in 2018. He is co-author of The Umbrellas of Subchapter K, an article on UP-C and other umbrella partnership structures published as part of the Practising Law Institute’s Partnership Tax Practice Series.
