Ms. Kennedy is responsible for all aspects of employment litigation matters on behalf of employers and management.


An experienced trial attorney, Ms. Kennedy has tried to verdict in state and federal court employment matters such as age, race, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, and disability discrimination and harassment, as well as retaliation, and wrongful termination. Ms. Kennedy has also tried to verdict three wage and hour class actions. Ms. Kennedy provides preventive counseling to clients concerning personnel and employment matters. Ms. Kennedy has lectured around the country on personnel practices, employment discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and wrongful termination. She also has experience in labor issues such as union organizing, labor negotiations, and labor arbitrations.

Palo Alto’s Paul Cowie successfully represented Swift Transportation in a wage-and-hour rest break putative class action, as well as Granite Rock in a wage-and-hour case, which had multiple millions of dollars at risk. The Century City-based Thomas Kaufman was able to obtain a victory for Cox Communication when a judge granted a class-wide summary judgment on the claim for failure to pay field technicians for certain time spent driving in company vehicles. Derek HavelDaniel McQueen as well as Tracey Kennedy and Richard Simmons in Los Angeles are noted.
