Career
Mark Hannemann is a partner in Litigation practice and is based in the New York office. He is a leading patent litigator with extensive first-chair experience for both plaintiffs and defendants in jury trials, bench trials, and ITC hearings. He has frequently appeared in the Eastern District of Texas, the District of Delaware, and other US district courts, and has a successful appellate practice.
Mark’s frequent clients have included Robert Bosch, OSRAM, and Volkswagen. He is recommended in the 2013 edition of The Legal 500 in the area of “IP – Patent Litigation: full coverage,” and the 2014 edition of New York Super Lawyers. He has also been recognized as a New York “IP Star” by Managing Intellectual Property (2014). Most recently, IAM’s Patent 1000 recommended Mark as a “legal theory and strategy thinker” (2020), noting that the Shearman team includes “an expert panel of patent litigators.” The publication also noted that “Mark is smart and efficient, and his advice and arguments are always very much to the point” (2021).
