Position
Coleson’s practice focuses on complex M&A and commercial transactions in the energy industry, including the acquisition and divestiture of energy companies and assets, joint venture/development arrangements, and the evaluation and structuring of proposed transactions. Coleson also has extensive experience advising clients making a first-time investment in the U.S., or first-time investments in the energy industry, advising on the legal and business compliance loads implicated by such first-time investments (including corporate formation and governance, jurisdictional considerations, CFIUS review, economic sanctions, etc.).
Career
Coleson was a partner at Baker Botts until 2018 when he joined Shearman & Sterling to help establish the firm’s Texas offices.
