Position

Partner Alex Córdova leads our Tax practice area. He specializes in fiscal consulting and planning, mergers & acquisitions, extractive industries taxation, consumption taxation and tax processes.

Career

He advises in the analysis of tax aspects, as well as financial transactions, such as derivative contracts, trusts, taxation of extractive industries, mutual and investment funds, consumption taxation and securitizations.

He represents clients in tax processes both in administrative offices and before the Judiciary. He has been involved in the most important cases on this matter in the country obtaining successful results.

He has been president of the Peruvian chapter of the International Fiscal Association (2010 – 2012), and has been a member of four Boards of Directors for two years each (2004 – 2012). Likewise, he has been president of the Tax Commitee of AmCham and of the Tax Commitee of the National Society of Mining, Petroleum and Energy. He is a frequent speaker in local and international forums, having been a speaker twice at the IFA world congresses in Copenhagen and Madrid. He has been a professor of the Consumption Taxes course at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and is the author of several articles on tax matters. He is currently Chairman of the Tax Committee of Confiep.
