Peru > Dispute resolution
The disputes team at Osterling Abogados is ‘extremely hands on, knowledgeable and dedicated‘. A market leader in insurance law, it acts for most of the largest insurance companies in Peru, but also boasts a significant client roster of mining, energy, construction and real estate companies, as well as private clients. The practice has a lead role in the developing case law concerning a historical instance of compulsory land appropriation by the State, a matter in which it is acting for Inmobiliaria Santa Felicia in a $85m claim, and for Constructora Industrial y Comercial Vulcano in a separate $5m claim. The four-partner practice is co-led by Mauricio Martínez, client partner to top local insurer Rimac Seguros y Reaseguros, and Enrique Ferrando, a ‘fierce arbitration practitioner‘ who is ‘extremely well-versed in Peruvian law‘; it can also call on experienced litigator Kodiak Semsch and recently promoted Gabriel Loli.
