Career

Alberto leads the mining and environmental team of the firm. He regularly counsels mining companies that invest in Peru and his practice covers from corporate transactions to project finance, usually related to natural resources. His experience in these fields includes advising oil and gas companies and private equity investors in forestry and agribusiness. Due to his training as a corporate lawyer, he is also dedicated to commercial matters in general, including mergers and acquisitions in diverse sectors. Partner at Miranda & Amado since 2008, he joined the firm as an associate in 2002. He worked as an associate in the Finance Group of Mayer Brown in London (2007 to 2008) where he participated in the project financing of mines located in Spain, Mexico and Finland. Previously, he was an Associate at Estudio Grau (between 1998 and 2002). Alberto is a lawyer from Universidad de Lima with a LL.M. from Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy, University of Dundee, Scotland, United Kingdom. He is a professor of Mining Law at Universidad de Piura since 2010 and has been a professor of the Investments and Finance of Natural Resources Exploitation Projects Course of the Graduate Program in Natural Resources Law at Universidad de Lima (2007).

Led by Alberto Delgado, the mining team at Miranda & Amado forms part of the firm’s wider natural resources and infrastructure projects practice and offers expertise in relation to land management, environmental matters, community relations, water rights, natural reserves and zoning, among other areas. The group acts for high-profile domestic and international clients and Delgado has 25 years’ experience in corporate, contractual, compliance and permitting matters. Key practitioner Guillermo Bracamonte is also a name to note for transactional work, as well as environmental and regulatory proceedings, while associate Cynthia Rebaza is recommended for corporate, commercial and regulatory matters pertaining to mining projects.
