He focuses his practice on giving advice on and structuring all types of financing transactions for local and international entities, as well as for borrowers, including corporate financing, project finance, acquisition finance, public and private offerings of marketable securities, takeover bids and public exchange offers, securitizations, among others. A partner at Miranda & Amado since 2011, he joined the Firm as an associate in 2001. José Miguel earned his law degree from Universidad de Lima and holds a Master’s Degree in Law and a Certificate in Business Administration from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

Miranda & Amado’s banking and finance team remains active and well regarded in the market; it regularly advises on large cross-border transactions for high-profile domestic and international banks and financial institutions, as well as corporate clients. On the transactional side, the practice handles structured finance, loans and project finance and banking-sector M&A, and on the regulatory side, it offers considerable experience in the licensing of local banks. The practice is led by Gabriela Dañino, who brings expertise in cross-border finance and capital markets deals, and also heads the firm’s fintech practice. The team, which is led by Gabriela Dañino, stands out for its experience in international deals and its ability to provide tax structuring advice on complex capital markets transactions. Dañino offers expertise in domestic and cross-border deals and project finance, while veteran practitioner Juan Luis Avendaño, who has 20 years of experience in the market, stands out for his work on international offerings of debt instruments, hybrids and securitisations.
