McDermott Will & Emery LLP significantly grew its international trade practice with the arrivals of seven practitioners from Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP in August 2020. Joanne Osendarp was among the new hires and currently serves as co-chair of the practice alongside Carolyn Gleason. Following the appointments of Osendarp and Eric Parnes in particular, the team bolstered its ability to represent clients in trade remedy proceedings and trade negotiations. Its trade policy work also gained additional credibility through the expertise of senior counsel Dean Pinkert, a former member of the International Trade Commission. Further, the group is also well versed in customs compliance, export controls, and economic sanctions; Raymond Paretzky and senior counsel David Levine are practitioners with a strong reputation in this space.
